My grandmother. It isn't a clear portrait, but it's the one that makes me think of her the clearest.

beautiful, and you're right, the not so clear photos can be the clearest ones strangely, and somehow maybe better showing true nature of things i guess,
and the fact that the focus is on a little violet flower is perfectly suiting to the fact that she was a gardener in her heart,
i wonder what "Oma" means:sherlock:
:iconcharonferryman:
"Oma" means "Granny" - it's a short name for your grandmother if you are Austrian. "Opa" is the grandfather.

And you express very well what I meant with the image, Basia :)

"oma" means "granny"? how prettily, the word sounds very proud and beautiful i think, a bit like "omega" the last letter of the Greek alphabet,

but it sounds nothing like our polish "babcia"(granny) or "dziadek"/"dziadziu"(grandpa)

be well,Sebastian, have a good night, and may it be a good funeral tommorrow :smooch:
:iconcharonferryman:
"babcia" and "dziadek/dziadziu" are interesting sounding words as well...it's a pity I know nothing about Polish, really...I always thought these words like "Mama" (mum) "Papa" (dad) and "Oma/Opa" are those that children can say most easily - for obvious reasons.

Anyway, good night, Basia. Thank you again. I hope you have restful night and a very good day tomorrow. :smooch:

we say : "mama" "tata" ("mama" is definitely one of those few ancient praeindoeuropean words that remained nearly the same in so many languages and prove we all, be it English, French,Austrian or Polish come from the same travelling peoples and we were a one traveling society in the beginnings) but you're right "oma/opa" can be more easily said than "babcia/dziadziu"
:hug:same to you, Sebastian(pardon me all the avalanches of hugs and smoochs that i bother you with recently recently, but i feel lots of friendly tendeness for you these days)
:iconcharonferryman:
Yes, agreed on language and the way it spreads and travels...we should have a discussion on such things once when I'm feeling a bit more alert intellectually :) For a Polish kid, "babcia" might be the more natural sound, I think, it is very interesting to watch such words change and reappear in languages all over, yes...and I am the last person who minds a  or a :smooch:

we should, and you're right, it's not a day for being especially intelectually alert
:phew: oh good, then have some more:hug::smooch::cuddle::rose: and thank you dearly Sebastian for submitting the journal about your grandma, i think i needed to read something wise and expressing life-respect beautifully like that:hug:
:iconcharonferryman:
I'm glad it had that effect on you. It's how I try to view life...
And the hugs make me feel very warm and pleasant. :smooch:  :cuddle: to you as well. :)
