It almost feels like you found a model that had a strange skin condition that made him stoney. It really seems like a pose for the camera.

Another good title, although to me his face seems stern.

The title is a bit of a mocking comment, since he is holding "your" hourglass, maybe sometimes glancing down at it with a wistful smile as if to say, "What, already that late?"

He he he. Mortality as quaint... to the immortal.

ha ha ha, what a nice pose, it's more or less like " you'd better go back to where you come from ".
I love the motif of hourglass. I used to buy such one some twice a year , when I lived in the north, and take it to the river by the castle in Olsztyn, then break and throw the sand into the water, it was kind a ceremony of releasing the time. There's something scary in the way a hourglass works, but well, i hate clocks either...

Yes, I thought it was the mocking angel, who lounges in your most desperate moments and smiles while tapping his finger against the hourglass ;)

That is a very beautiful ceremony that you describe there. In itself a very strong image, stronger if it has meaning and purpose for you. I sometimes sit next to rivers until I can imagine all my thoughts flowing into them, losing them.

And yes, you feel forced to look at every grain falling, every tick-tock movement and feel that something is wrong...I try to avoid clocks wherever I can...but I like hourglasses because you can turn them over and nothing is really lost. :)

you're right about the hourglass, there's always a possibility to turn it over...yet...there are only two options, the movement of time, when you can see the sand slipping through, and when it's already done (the sand's down )and it's like the bells at midnight...having a clock, you can always put the battery off ;)

One should design an hourglass where the sand is always flowing, then...although this might almost be a clock again, if it isn't done skillfully ;)

or think of an hourglass with fast forward and rewind options ;)

Now that reminds me of a book...but I forgot which ;P

No, actually it makes me think of an Ancient Etruscan superhero who travels through time ;) - and of Master Hora in Michael Ende's "Momo" :)
